Here is a basic review of our casting process. We hold the casting on our 2nd day after arriving in the Czech Republic. For this trip, we had a total of 5 full shoot days to schedule models for. This time ALL of the models that were scheduled to come actually showed up to the main casting; that is a first!! Even so, we still have to hold a few shoot slots open just in case a hot new model shows up while we are there. Our agent has new models applying on a daily basis and in the past I have learned to remain as flexible as possible in case a super model walks through the door.

23 models came to the casting on this trip. That is an unusually low number for us but this is because our agent filters out all of the models that she knows we would not be interested in. For example, she does not invite any models with breast implants, models that are not willing to insert large, unusual objects, or models that are boring on video, etc... The casting was scheduled from 10am to 2pm; however, the last model arrived a little after 3:30pm so it took a little longer to complete than we expected.

During the casting process we try not to make any rash judgments about models at the time we are shooting them. This is because in order to truly and accurately evaluate them, we need to see how they look in the pictures and video. However, some models walk in and I look at them and think, "there is no way this girl is going to be selected". You can usually get a feel for my thought process at the time by the number of pictures that I shoot of any given model. The more pictures I shoot of them at the casting, the more I tend to like the model and want her to be fully considered for selection. As usual, there are some models that as soon as they walk through the door I immediately know that they will be selected. When shooting their casting pictures I try to get them to show me various looks (i.e. smiling, sexy, seductive, pouty, etc...). I will comment about this as well during my evaluations.

After the casting we go back to my suite and evaluate all of the photos, video, and study the casting sheet for each model. There were three of us reviewing the models so at least 2 out of 3 had to agree on any given decision. We start with 3 piles. "No Way", "Maybe", and "Definitely Yes". We make an initial pass through the list of models and place their casting sheets in one of these piles. This first step allows us to immediately filter out the models that we are not even slightly interested in, as well as identify the models that we definitely want to shoot without question. After the first pass we evaluate the "Maybe" stack; this pile takes some time to analyze. We then separate the "Maybe" pile into a "Maybe Not" pile and "Maybe Yes" pile. We had 10 shoot slots to fill so at most we could select 10 models. A single shoot slot was 5 hours or a ½ day shoot. If there were any exceptionally hot models, we may elect to give them two shoot slots (i.e. a full day shoot as opposed to a half day shoot)..

For each model, I (Alex), will provide you with my personal evaluation and tell you what my thought processes were at that time. Again, I will remind you that some of my assessments may appear harsh and brutal at times. However, I think it is important to tell you what my personal thoughts were. This does not mean that the model is bad in any way. All of these girls were really nice and we showed them the utmost consideration and respect during the casting process. Please take their height and weight measurements lightly as we did not verify these. We only list the measurements that they supplied to us on their casting forms. This time, as a first, we had our videographer, Jeremy, offer some of his personal thoughts about the models on video immediately following the casting. These may or may not reflect my thoughts that are presented in my model assessments. Also, I will assess these models with respect to Model #6: Dolly Darkley. As some of you know, I have talked a bit about her in my Director's Blog and I clearly think she was a mistake to shoot. So I will point out potential models that I probably should have selected instead of Dolly. It should also be noted that all of the clothes that the models are wearing in the casting are the clothes that they arrived in off the street.

Part 1

Part 1 Running Time: 37 min and 29 sec			As we get this year's casting kicked off, we meet our first 12 potential models. We have these nice young ladies strip and pose for us so we can analyze their physical appearance, , posing ability/experience, and overall look. We met a few good looking girls, none that blew us away, and a few that even turned out to be less dazzling than we expected from our first impression. By the end of this first batch, we were becoming a little concerned; however, our agent told us to have faith, more great girls were on their way!

Part 2

Part 2 Running Time: 40 min and 42 sec			So we get right back to the hard and trying job of watching these ladies come and pose nude for us. We had high hopes and we finally scored what we were looking for! We met some amazingly beautiful girls that we immediately knew we wanted to shoot. We had a few more come through that weren't quite our style, but hey, that's what the casting is all about. Be there alongside ALS for when we first met some of our gorgeous honeys like Mia Ross and Tea Jul! Who would you have picked??
